Apple’s promotion code redeeming process is not as easy as you might think. Here are the steps:
1. Go to your PC or Mac’s iTunes. This is the biggest confusion. You can not redeem any promotion code from iPhone/iPodTouch.
2. Click on “iTunes Store” on the left,
3. Make sure you’re in the root of ITunes directory
4. On the right, in the “Quick Links” section, there is a “Redeem” link

When I submitted iPattern Kids to Apple, I had to set the “Availability date” for the app. I have heard Apple’s app approval process is quite long - some developers said their apps were approved in three weeks, and when they finally had them approved, their apps were buried ten pages into the “New Releases” list in iTunes and nobody was able to find it. So I set iPattern Kids’ availability date to one month in the future.
It turns out at least for my app, not that bad. One week after I submitted, I got the much-awaited email from Apple saying that iPattern Kids was approved. I reset my availability date to that day, and within a couple of hours, it was in iTune. Mission accomplished!
